Scottish Centre for Animal Welfare Sciences

The purpose of the Centre is to advance animal welfare through the
relevant sciences. It
lays emphasis on a multi-disciplinary research programme,
drawing on expertise from the behavioural, genetic, immunological,
physiological, agricultural and veterinary sciences.
Members of the Centre conduct research within their own
institutions, but joint research programmes are encouraged. Many members
are also involved in teaching e.g. the MSc course in Applied Animal
Behaviour and Animal Welfare at the University of Edinburgh. The Centre
can also provide scientific information on animal welfare.
